MSc Information Technology
This programme is designed to allow graduate students who have demonstrated intellectual ability in other subject areas the opportunity to undertake postgraduate study in the computing arena and achieve a qualification that will facilitate a career change or entry into the computing field. The degree focuses on rapid acquisition of the knowledge and skills required for implementing information systems and an evaluation of the development effect on business organisations.
The aim of this programme is to provide students with a balance of Information Technology theory and advanced practical skills that will enable them to develop a sound knowledge and analytical ability allowing them to develop professionally in pursuit of future employment at senior level in the IT sector.This programme is designed to give students the opportunity to:
- Expand their knowledge with a balance of theory and advanced practical skills
- Gain experiences to enable them to develop a sound knowledge and analytical ability
- Enhance their intellectual and professional development
- Provide the opportunity for future employment at a senior level.
- An undergraduate degree from a recognised university or equivalent
- All applications are subject to interview by the AMC Academic Advisor.
The programme is delivered across three semesters and the project dissertation is completed in the final semester of the programme. To obtain a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSc), students will be required to complete the following number of modules in order to qualify for an award:
- Postgraduate Certificate 60M credits (2 modules)
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) 120M credits (4 modules)
- Master of Science (MSc) 180M credits (4 modules and Research Dissertation)
A module is a separate identifiable block of learning which is credit-rated, with credit allocated on the basis of 10 hours of study for each credit. Standard modules are 30 credits in size for postgraduate programmes.

The programme provides specialist technological updating and a broadening of the horizons of participants, by considering the use of Information Technology in stimulating and harnessing technological change. For those with little or no previous computer experience, it offers the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the use of IT in a corporate context and the development of key IT skills.
